SOMEBODIES I USED TO KNOW  (And What I Bet They Look Like Now)

Series of 23 images, approx. 20 x 25 cm. gouache, pencil, and ink on paper, 2019

Somebodies I Used to Know (And what I bet they look like now) is an exploration of the cognitive dissonance that results from an attempt to rationally reconcile the way you think you know people with the realization that their reality is in fact something other: the familiar face now appears unrecognizably foreign.
